Tickets for this Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or card accepted presently). The USA Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band will perform their Spring Concert on Monday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. Featuring everything from classic works to newly composed pieces, the USA Percussion Ensemble will present a concert highlighting a variety of musical instruments, styles, and colors. The USA Steel Band will perform traditional music of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as arrangements of contemporary popular music and more. Both ensembles are under the direction of Dr. Brian Nozny.

The recital is a “Tribute to Women” which will feature both women composers and women performers, including pianist Dr. Doreen Lee, flutist Dr. Andra Bohnet, trumpeter Dr. Julia Bell, hornist Jodi Wood, and euphoniumist Kimiko Yamada. Music will include the tuba concerto “War and Rumors of War” by Barbara York and Florence Price’s “Adoration.”
