2020 Visual Arts Achievement Exhibition

The Mobile Arts Council’s Gallery @ Room 1927 hosts the
Visual Arts Achievement Program (VAAP) exhibition from February 5^th
to March 1^st, 2020. VAAP is an arts education program that
recognizes talent in the visual arts from 6^th through 12^th
grade students at the local and state level. The District 1 juried exhibition
will end with an awards ceremony and reception in the gallery from 2 to 4 p.m.
on Sunday, March 1^st.

District 1 includes Baldwin, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia,
Mobile, Monroe, and Washington counties. Every student who receives a District
Award will be recognized at the State Awards Ceremony, held by the Alabama
State Council on the Arts, in Montgomery this April.

Concurrently, the Young at Art show, which showcases works
from District 1 elementary school students, will also hang from February 5^th
to March 1^st. The Gallery @ Room 1927, located next to the Saenger
Theatre entrance, is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is
always free to visit.
