How They Met
I had just moved to a new home, and my friends kept trying to get me to meet a certain neighbor across the street. After a few months of persistence from my friends, I gave in and went to have wine with John and our mutual friend Megan. Even though it was a Sunday night, we stayed up way past midnight drinking wine, listening to music and getting to know one another. Strangely, we even talked about what our choice of a first dance song for a wedding would be. John and I went on our first date a few days later, and since then, he has been my favorite neighbor!
How He Proposed
John and I had talked at length about getting married, so I knew a proposal was coming. I had a few ideas on how and when John would propose, but I was completely wrong! John’s family loves to celebrate birthdays, and we planned a family dinner to one of our favorite restaurants, Via Emilia, to celebrate his grandmother’s special day. John’s mom told me she wanted her mother to meet my brother and his wife, so they came along with my nephew and parents. Somehow, I never suspected anything. After everyone arrived and had a glass of wine, John said he wanted to say a few words. That is when he said how much he loved me and got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. He was so thoughtful to include our families on such a momentous occasion, and I will never forget that night!
