Jessica McDonald and Ashley Wright

On Aug. 27, 2011, at half past six in the evening Jessica Hollie McDonald became the bride of Mr. Ashley Tormoen Wright at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile. Father Bry Shields officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Dana Collins McDonald, of Mobile, and Mr. Douglas Blackstone McDonald, of Mobile.

The groom is the son of Dr. Suzanne Tormoen of Fairhope, and Richard Ashley Wright of Mobile.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a V-neck gown made of Italian lace with scalloped edging. She wore a mantilla style veil that was scalloped in the same lace as her dress. Her pearl earrings were a wedding day gift from the groom. The bride’s bouquet, provided by Belle Bouquet, was a nosegay bouquet made of peonies, orchids, roses and English ivy.

The bridal party was made up of the bride and groom’s closest family and friends. The maid of honor was Bryn Jarvis and the best man was Miller Wright. Andin Choquette served as the flower girl, and Bennett Pearce was the ring bearer.

Immediately following the ceremony, Mobile’s Excelsior Band led the wedding party and guests in a second line to the Ezell House for a reception. The reception was catered by Tyner’s Catering and included an array of the bride and groom’s favorite foods. There was also a frozen yogurt bar that was served by Cold Snap Frozen Yogurt. The couple had a four-tiered wedding cake of varrying flavors made by Cakes by Judi. The couple chose a Mardi Gras theme for the Carriage House which had MoonPies, hand grenades, and other loot for the guests to enjoy.

The night was entertained by the Motown band, Powerhouse, as well as by the bride’s cousin, John Hayes. All photography was captured by Amy and Chris Keenan of Posh Images.

The couple traveled to Antigua for their honeymoon. They now live in Birmingham, where Ashley is an attorney at Maynard, Cooper and Gale, and Jessica is completing nursing school to become a N.P. in January. They would like to thank everyone who joined them in this special moment in their lives.
