Ceremony aboard the Breathe Reel Deep at Safe Harbor Sportsman Marina in Orange Beach
Reception at Magnolia Hall
Katie and David’s wedding day was filled with personal meaning and details that made their guests say, “This is so y’all!” The bride and groom moved from Mobile to Orange Beach the previous year, and since the bride’s grandparents vacationed and her parents honeymooned there, it was the perfect setting for the wedding. A small group of loved ones joined for the ceremony aboard a boat the couple had both spent much time on.
After the vow and ring exchange on Bayou St. John, the party returned to port and headed to Magnolia Hall for a large reception. A coastal dinner was served, and the reception featured a pair of silver goblets from the groom’s grandmother’s first wedding anniversary and a marlin-themed motif throughout. Mid-reception, the father of the bride sang “You Are My Sunshine,” a song he used to sing to his daughters when they were little. The night ended perfectly with a getaway in a 1965 Midnight Blue Pontiac GTO.
