April 26, 2025 // Ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Reception at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion
Emmie and Matthew were married on a sunny Saturday in late April. The couple filled their day with personal touches that told their story. Their wedding Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church included the Arras y Lazo tradition in the Catholic Church that originated in Spain that involves the couple exchanging arras (silver coins) and lazo (pearls). The grandmother of the bride brought her family’s arras all the way from Guatemala for the bride and groom.
Afterward, guests gathered under tents at Bragg-Mitchell Mansion for the reception. String lights glowed amongst branches of the oak trees as the newlyweds shared their first dance and the dance floor opened to guests. Night fell as the party continued, eventually coming to a close as the couple exited through white shakers and drove off in a 1953 Packard.
