Downie and Conner’s wedding day was an ode to their love story and a chance to show off the bride’s hometown to out-of-town guests. The bride and groom originally met as students at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, so the Point Clear weekend played host to locals and out-of-towners in true Mobile Bay style. Florals filled St. Francis at the Point and the bride’s Young Life leader in high school, who has become a close friend and mentor to the couple, officiated the ceremony.
The reception was held at the home of the father of the bride. Guests enjoyed a chargrilled oyster bar and a golf-themed martini bar in honor of the groom’s love of the sport. The dance floor stayed packed all night thanks to the band, and hats, tambourines and sunglasses were brought out late in the night, along with Chrissys and Conecuh dogs. The happy couple ended the night with a sparkler exit to their awaiting getaway car.
