What advice would you give your high school self? Stay away from perms and blue eye shadow. They are not your friends!
If you had to choose another career, what would it be? I suppose if I were forced to choose I would say “yard guy.” I love working outside; planting flowers and cutting the grass are some of my favorite things to do on the weekends.
What is the ideal age at which you would like to retire? Never! I hope to still be practicing law when I’m 99. It is truly my passion.
What is the weirdest job interview question you have ever been asked? “Does your mama or husband live in Mobile? Because we only hire people who we know are going to stay here.”

If you could have dinner with any one local person from history, whom would you choose? Eugene Walter. I had the pleasure of meeting him once. He asked me my sign. I suspect every dinner with Eugene was lively and delightful.
What is the weirdest job interview question you have ever been asked? “What would you do if someone came in with a gun to rob the place?” This was at an Atlanta dry cleaner where I worked one summer. It did get robbed three times that summer, but never while I was there. For the record, I would hand over the money.

What would you like to see most in the Bay area? I would love it if the Bay area had a residential community similar to Liberty Park in Birmingham. I also wish we could figure out a way to offer more community and tourist access on the downtown Mobile waterfront.

It is not only one of the prettiest pieces of property in our area but I am always overwhelmed by the number of families and individuals who are served in some capacity through this wonderful camp.
What do you expect the Bay area will be like in 20 years? In attitude and traditions, we will remain the same. This area is made up of an abundance of generous, optimistic people who will continue to carry on all that Mobile is known for.
What would you like to see most in the Bay area? I would most like to see the addition of sidewalks, neighborhood parks and bike lanes. We have a great year-round climate that allows us to enjoy outdoor recreation. We just need infrastructure in place so that people can enjoy it safely.

What would you change about the Bay area? I would improve the K-12 schools. We moved here instead of New Orleans because of the superior schools, and New Orleans is about to lap us.

What do you expect the Bay area will be like in 20 years? I think it will be a good bit different in 20 years. In order for the City of Mobile to continue to grow, resources will need to be allocated to revitalizing downtown and attracting new industry to the area.
What one thing would you change about the Bay area? I think sports is a major part of any city’s sucess. With this said, I would move the baseball stadium to the waterfront and revamp the Civic Center.

What one thing would you change about the Bay area? Zoning of schools. Growing up in Birmingham, I walked 1 mile to my elementary, middle and high schools. This is a great memory I have that my son will probably never have due to the distance of neighborhoods from their zoned schools.
