Tradition and family were at the heart of Sarah and John’s wedding day. The couple’s weekend acted as one big family reunion, bringing together both sides in celebration. The bride walked down the aisle of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church adorned in her mother’s bridal veil restored by her mother-in-law, with her mom’s pearl necklace and ring, holding a bouquet wrapped in the bride’s old baby bonnet and rosary. The newlyweds recited their vows during their afternoon wedding Mass surrounded by family and friends, after which all in attendance celebrated at Byrne Memorial Hall on the grounds of Spring Hill College. After plenty of hors d’oeuvres, dancing and laughter, the couple cut their wedding cake, topped with the vintage bride-and-groom cake topper used in the bride’s family for two generations, and made their exit through a tunnel of silver shakers.
