July 4: City of Mobile Independence Day Celebration

Cooper Riverside Park • Downtown Mobile
2 p.m. – 9 p.m. Enjoy a day of family time, picnicking and live music. Attendance is free, but bring some extra cash for food and waterslide fun at GulfQuest. The fireworks extravaganza on the Mobile River begins promptly at 9 p.m.

July 4: Fairhope’s Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Display

Henry George Park and Fairhope Municipal Pier
7 p.m. concert, 9 p.m. fireworks. The city of Fairhope invites one and all to its annual Fourth of July festivities. Admission is free!

July 10 – 14: Blue Marlin Grand Championship of the Gulf

The Wharf • 23101 Canal Rd., Orange Beach
Watch a weigh-in experience like no other! Teams from all over come to compete and be a part of the spectacle. Don’t forget to shop, eat and maybe ride the ferris wheel while you’re there, too. Spectating is free.

July 14, 21, 28: Summer Classic Movie Series

Saenger Theatre • 6 S. Joachim St.
3 p.m. See classics such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, A Star is Born and Dirty Dancing on the big screen in the beautiful Saenger Theatre. Tickets: $6 for adults; $3 for children (12 and under) and seniors (60 and up).

July 19 – 20: Luke Bryan

The Wharf ­Amphitheater • 23101 Canal Rd., Orange Beach
7 p.m. Sing along with this country music star and American Idol judge and his special guests Cole Swindell, Jon Langston and DJ Rock. Tickets start at $22.

July 19 – 21: Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo

Dauphin Island
Cast your rod in the world’s largest fishing tournament – or just spectate as the anglers compete for a variety of prizes.

July 20: Mardi Gras in July

Fairhope Brewing Company • 914 Nichols Ave., Fairhope
2 p.m – 10 p.m. Stop by the taproom to indulge in Mardi Gras inspired beers, food and live music by local bands throughout the day. Your $5 at the door also comes with a commemorative glass.

July 20: Dauphin Street Vault

Downtown Mobile
10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Join beginner and elite pole vaulters as they launch themselves high in the sky on the streets of LoDa. Registration is $60.

July 24: Bay Bites Food Truck Festival

Cooper Riverside Park • Downtown Mobile
5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Support Mobile Baykeeper’s efforts for clean water, clean air, and healthy communities by savoring food from the best food trucks in the area. Tickets: $15 until July 8; $20 July 9 – 24 at 2 p.m.; $25 at the gate.

July 29: Cheers to Children

El Papi • 615 Dauphin St.
6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. This fundraiser for Child Advocacy Center of Mobile includes wine tasting, samples of El Papi’s dishes, a silent auction and live music. Tickets: $35.
