Stepping into a nursery to shop for plants can be overwhelming, which is why I’m a HUGE advocate for shopping local. Beyond keeping money and support within our community’s economy, local nurseries and garden centers grow and sell plants that will grow in our environment (versus a big box store which may have them shipped from another part of the country and look pretty in store but won’t live long in our environment after purchase). These local garden centers also staff people who have a lot of experience with the plants they are selling and are passionate about helping you pick the right plant for your light, soil and water conditions.
