MIND BOWL AT SOUL BOWLZ
“Nothing hits the spot after a day of surfing like the Mind Bowl at Soul Bowlz. People ask what I recommend they eat post workout, and this bowl is my most consistent answer. I add in protein, spirulina and maca to the already super nutrient-dense blend for added recovery. It also just tastes freaking amazing (like a dessert!) and leaves you full of energy and satisfied. Expert tip: if you are in Fairhope or Gulf Shores, take the extra time to drive to the water, kick your feet up, put your cell phone down and let the sea teach you while you eat.” – Eddie Henry, Owner and Founder, MVP Fitness

MUFFALETTA AT REGINA’S KITCHEN
“There are good sandwiches, and then there are muffalettas that stop you in your tracks. Regina’s Kitchen serves up a muffaletta so authentic that it’s hands down the best I’ve had outside New Orleans. The bread is spot-on: lightly crisp on the outside, soft but sturdy on the inside. It’s stacked high with salami, ham, mortadella and provolone, but what really seals the deal is their olive salad — briny, rich and bursting with tang and seasoning. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you pause after the first bite just to take it all in.” – John Barton, CEO, TC Boiler & Piping

THE PONTCHARTRAIN AT KINGFISHER
“We had dinner recently at Kingfisher in Fairhope. It is a beautiful spot and the menu has lots of options. I tried one of their fish dishes, The Pontchartrain. It was a lightly breaded drum filet topped with crabmeat and a caper hollandaise sauce. The fish was cooked perfectly and the toppings elevated the dish. It came with a side salad and choice of one side. Their dressings are homemade and the list of sides is large. I went with the roasted cauliflower. It was a great first meal and I can’t wait to go back!” – Anna Fargason, Inventory Manager and Website Coordinator, Crown and Colony Antiques

TRADITIONAL BURRITO AT BARIACHI MEXICAN KITCHEN
“Whenever I’m in the mood for a good burrito, I head over to Bariachi Mexican Kitchen. Their traditional burrito is stuffed with rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. They don’t skimp on the protein portion, either. I usually get their grilled chicken because it’s perfectly seasoned. The chips and salsa are always fresh, and if you’re looking for a yummy app to share, get the chori queso. It’s spicy, salty, cheesy and delicious.” – Natalie Dunn, Senior Communications & Programs Officer, The Community Foundation of South Alabama
