Chicken Milanesa at Tulum Mexican Cuisine
“A friend and I recently dined at Tulum. I ordered the chicken milanesa. It came with a fried chicken cutlet, but the star of the dish for me was the Caesar salad. It was topped with a perfectly ripened, sliced avocado. The cherry tomatoes and zesty citrusy Caesar dressing were fabulous as well. The service, ambience and atmosphere were all great. Best of all, Tulum is conveniently located so Mobile and Baldwin friends can easily meet in the middle!” – Ginny Behlen, Dietitian, WIC at Mobile County Health Department

Cheesy Crawfish Fries at Kingfisher Seafood Restaurant
“I recently dined at Kingfisher Seafood Restaurant on Scenic Highway 98 in Fairhope for a second time. The list of dishes merits more than one visit. Our server was friendly and well-versed on the menu. All the appetizers are so large that they could be a meal themselves. Our favorite was the Cheesy Crawfish Fries. The fries were topped with a crawfish pepper jack sauce and then sprinkled with fried crawfish tails. Kingfisher is a favorite to all who have been there!” – Buddy Bates, Retired Vice President and Property Manager for Regions Bank

King Conecuh at King Dogs
“After a night of bar hopping in downtown Mobile, the late-night craving hits, and only one place satisfies: King Dogs. Their King Conecuh dog is savory and filling, perfect to balance out the activities at the bar. Grilled onions, grilled peppers and mustard are piled high on a perfectly grilled Conecuh sausage. Think NYC street dog, but with Southern hospitality and flavor. Nazear knows my order before I reach the counter. It’s the ideal end (or halftime snack) to a night out in Mobile.” – Cam Jackson, Director of Membership, Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce

Dr. Skipper’s Turtle Soup at Felix’s Fish Camp
My family and I went to Felix’s Fish Camp on the Causeway, where I ordered ‘Dr. Skipper’s turtle soup.’ Its red-orange tomato base is a bold twist on the traditional green versions. Whole cloves give it a warm, aromatic kick, while onion, garlic, thyme and beef extract build a deep, savory flavor. Chopped hard-boiled eggs and a splash of sherry are added just before serving, giving the soup a creamy texture and a bright, slightly sweet finish. It’s hearty, flavorful, and refreshingly different.” – Toots Otts Weaver, Real Estate Agent, Courtney & Morris Real Estate
