How They Met
Dylan and I met in 2010 in the Mississippi Delta through the Teach for America program. We were both assigned to be high school math teachers. He was cute, but we were both preoccupied with our new jobs. In 2014, we reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding and almost immediately began dating. I moved to Colorado, where Dylan is from, and the rest is history!
How He Proposed
He tricked me! On a summer visit to my parent’s home on Fish River, we were enlisted to do “farm chores” with the family, before we left for the beach. My dad sent us on an “errand” to the pier, one of my favorite places in the world, and Dylan proposed while I was looking for some “tools.” Dylan had been coordinating with my family for months, and I was totally in the dark about the plan! I was shocked (and still am), but I said YES!
