October 18, 2025 // Ceremony at Government Street Presbyterian Church, Reception at the bride’s parents’ home
Sarah Catherine and Joey’s wedding was a celebration of love, family and special moments from their lives. The bride started the morning at her parents’ house, where her bridesmaids got ready with her. The wedding party then took photos in Washington Square Park; the bride said the moment was surreal, standing in her wedding dress remembering how she had played in the park as a little girl. The ceremony occurred at the bride’s childhood church, Government Street Presbyterian. The tunes of a gospel choir punctuated the happy occasion as a crowd of family, friends and loved ones watched the couple exchange vows.
The street party reception followed in the Oakleigh Historic Garden District. The tent featured olive-green draping and floral arrangements placed on tall columns running down the center, with tables and bars scattered in the neighbors’ yards. The band kept everyone on the dance floor all night long, with late-night pizza and Chrissy’s keeping the party going well into the evening.
