“A chance visit with friends took this Midtown gal out to Pour Baby in WeMo. As the evening drew to a close, I had to ponder, ‘Why have I not been here before?’ My entree, the jumbo lump crab cake, was phenomenal and full of flavor. Citrus microgreens on top and a Dijon mustard sauce took the crab cake, which actually contained crabmeat and not filler, to another level. “NoJa in downtown Mobile is a great dinner spot. I started with the crispy chicken karaage, then had a warm spinach salad with bacon, blue cheese and shallots. My main dish was an 8-ounce filet cooked medium rare and drizzled with a red wine reduction. It was tender and perfectly cooked, served with Brussels sprouts and their tasty house potatoes. For dessert, we shared a ginger doughnut with caramel sauce and popcorn ice cream.
