August 4 – 6: Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation Professional Rodeo

Foley Horse Arena • 113 East Rosetta Ave., Foley.

6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Watch as professional riders compete in bull riding, barrel racing, roping and steer wrestling events. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children. Ages 3 and under are free. Proceeds benefit the 47 Peer Helper Programs in schools across Baldwin County.

August 4: Glow in the Park Summer Movie Series

Fairhopers Community Park • Church Street, Fairhope

8 p.m. Round up the family for a night under the stars and a free screening of Disney Pixar's “Inside Out.” Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended.

August 5: Twenty One Pilots

7 p.m. Catch the up-and-coming band before they make it big. Sing along to hits “Tear in My Heart” and “Ride” as well as performances by MUTEMATH and Chef’Special

August 7, 14: Summer Classic Movie Series

3 p.m. Escape the sweltering heat at a classic movie Sunday matinee. This month’s lineup includes “His Girl Friday” and “Airplane.” Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for kids and seniors. 

August 12: Taste of the Eastern Shore

Daphne Civic Center • 2603 US 98, Daphne.

Feast on tasty dishes from local restaurants and enjoy live music from the Adam Holt Band at this annual fundraiser benefiting various organizations at Daphne High School. Cost is $25. 

August 27: Reel Hope Classic Fishing Tournament

Orange Beach Marina • 27075 Marina Road

4 p.m. – 8 p.m., weigh-in. Four-man teams can compete in categories including inshore fishing for $250 per boat and offshore fishing for $500 per boat. A jackpot category is also available for an additional $25 per boat. Individuals can register under the “Land Lubber” category to fish from the Gulf State Park Pier. Proceeds benefit the Pediatric Cancer Clinic at Children’s of Alabama.

August 27: Dauphin Street Beer Festival

Downtown Mobile

6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Work your way down Dauphin Street, sampling a variety of beers at participating restaurants and bars. From pale ales to darker brews, there's something on tap for everyone. Purchase a ticket at any participating venue (Crescent Theater, Serda's Coffee Co., Azalea Manor, etc.), grab a mug and a map and drink to your heart's content. Tickets are $30. 

August 27: Grand Summer Ball

Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa • 1 Grand Blvd., Point Clear.

The Eastern Shore's premier black-tie event promises an evening filled with dinner, dancing and fun. Proceeds benefit Thomas Hospital's new birth center. Tickets are $300 and can be purchased here

August 27: Screen on the Green

St. Ignatius • 3704 Springhill Ave. 

7:30 p.m. Take a break from your hectic back-to-school schedule with a free screening of Disney Pixar's “The Good Dinosaur.” Food trucks will be on site.
