3 p.m. On Sunday afternoons, head to the Saenger for matinee screenings of classic films including “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, ” “North by Northwest” and “Gone with the Wind.” Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and children 12 and under.
August 7 – 12: Mobile Tiki Week
Downtown Mobile
Bust out the floral print and grass skirts, and join The Haberdasher, Merry Widow, OK Bike Shop and The Noble South's Sidecar Lounge for the first ever tiki week. Each bar will be featuring original tiki cocktails served with all the garnishment and fanfare. Fun events like tiki-themed trivia, a “rum crawl” and pig roast are also scheduled throughout the week. Each establishment will donate a portion of their profits to McKemie Place, the only overnight shelter for single, homeless women in all of Mobile, Washington and Baldwin Counties.
August 18: Matchbox Twenty

8 p.m. Flashback to the '90s as Matchbox Twenty celebrates their 20th anniversary with a performance alongside special guest Matt Nathanson. Tickets start at $18.

August 26: Dauphin Street Beer Festival

6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Work your way down Dauphin Street, sampling a variety of beers at participating restaurants and bars. From pale ales to darker brews, there's something on tap for everyone. Purchase a ticket at any participating venue (Crescent Theater, Serda's, The Haberdasher, etc.), grab a mug and a map and drink to your heart's content. Tickets are $30.
August 31: Alabama Chef Challenge
Fort Whiting • 1630 S Broad St.
6 p.m. – 9 p.m. This annual culinary event features delicious food and drinks from local chefs along with the music of Roman Street, all in an effort to educate the public about the issue of hunger. Tickets are $60 in advance, $75 at the door. Proceeds benefit Feeding the Gulf Coast.
