December – January 2: Magic Christmas in Lights

Bellingrath Gardens and Home • 12401 Bellingrath Gardens Rd., Theodore.

The Mobile tradition celebrates its 20th anniversary with 3 million bulbs, 1, 000 set pieces and 15 scenes. Don’t forget to snag some hot chocolate or a photo with Santa before heading home. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for children ages 5 – 12 and free children 4 and under.

December – January 2: Christmas Nights of Lights

Hank Aaron Stadium • 755 Bolling Brothers Blvd.

5:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Pack the car with friends and family and enjoy this 1.5-mile drive-thru Christmas light show featuring hundreds of thousands of lights synchronized to Christmas music. Admission is $6 per person. Children 3 and under are free.

December – January 12: Riverside Ice

Cooper Riverside Park • Downtown Mobile

11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Mon. – Thurs.; 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., Fri. – Sat.; noon – 8 p.m., Sun. Lace up your skates for some winter fun on the ice at downtown Mobile's newest holiday attraction. Cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Free parking is available in the city lot at Water Street and Government Street.

Dec. 4: “Elf”

Cathedral Square • Downtown Mobile

5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets to Cathedral Square for a free screening of the holiday favorite “Elf.” Kick off the evening by crafting elf hats with the kids at 5 p.m., and settle in for the movie at 6 p.m. 

Dec. 12: Christmas Lighted Boat Parade

Lulu's at Homeport • 200 East 25th Ave., Gulf Shores

5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. The ultimate Coastal Christmas celebration! The boats will begin at Lulu's,  head down the Intracoastal Waterway and end at Cobalt in Orange Beach.

December 12 – 13: The Nutcracker

Mobile Civic Center • 401 Civic Center Dr.

2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Sat.; 2:30 p.m., Sun. The Mobile Ballet takes to the stage with a traditional holiday production the whole family will enjoy. Guest artists include Jeanette Delgado, principal dancer with Miami City Ballet, and Daniel Ulbricht, principal dancer with New York City Ballet. Tickets start at $20. 

December 17 – 18: Holiday Movies at the Saenger

​Saenger Theatre • 6 S Joachim St.

6 p.m. doors open, 7 p.m. movie. Celebrate the season with two classic holiday films: “Christmas Vacation” on Dec. 17 and “It's a Wonderful Life” on Dec. 18. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and children 12 and under.

December 23: GoDaddy Bowl

Ladd-Peebles Stadium • 1621 Virginia St.

7 p.m. Catch all the action in person at Ladd-Peebles Stadium or from the comfort of your own couch while watching it on ESPN. The game features top teams from the Mid-American and Sun Belt conferences. 

​December 28: Kevin Hart

Mobile Civic Center • 401 Civic Center Dr.

7 p.m. Don't miss one of the hottest comedians perform as part of his “What Now?” tour. Tickets range from $70 – $126. 

December 31: MoonPie Over Mobile

Downtown Mobile

Celebrate the end of 2015 with a laser light show, fireworks,  live music from En Vogue and of course, our infamous 12-foot-tall electric MoonPie.
