July 3 – 4: Free Family Beach Movies: ‘Jaws’

Dauphin Island

Dusk. The Town of Dauphin Island screens free movies in the sand every Thursday during the summer, and this holiday weekend the sharks are coming to shore for two days. Bring your lawn chair or beach blanket.

July 3 – 5: The Red Clay Strays

The Amphitheater at The Wharf • Orange Beach

7 p.m., Thu. – Sat. Don’t miss three nights of one of our favorite hometown bands who made it big with their dynamic blend of rock, soul and country. Tickets start at $80. 

July 4: Mobile’s Fourth of July Celebration

USS Alabama Battleship Park • 2703 Battleship Pkwy

6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Celebrate America with a fun fireworks show in the shadow of the USS Alabama. This free, family-friendly event also includes interactive games and activities, food trucks and live music by Tip Tops and Fly By Radio. Parking: $10.

July 4: Fairhope’s Fourth of July Celebration

Henry George Park • Fairhope

7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Enjoy Independence Day Fairhope-style with a concert from the Baldwin Pops and fireworks over the Bay. Free admission.

July 4: Gulf Shores Independence Day Celebration

Gulf State Park • Gulf Shores

9 p.m. Wrap up a day on the beach with a fireworks display over the Gulf for a Fourth of July you’ll always remember. Free admission. 

Blue Angels

July 9 – 12: Pensacola Beach Air Show feat. the U.S. Navy Blue Angels

Pensacola Beach

9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Catch the roar over the shore and watch the Blue Angels perform jaw-dropping stunts. Free admission.

July 11 – 13: MOB Music Fest

Cathedral Square • Downtown Mobile

5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Fri. – Sat., 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sun. Catch live sets from regional rising stars and old Mobile favorites at this high-energy celebration of music, culture and creativity. Free admission. 

July 12: Cruise to Gaillard Island

Historic Blakeley State Park • Spanish Fort

9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Float by a man-made island and learn how a dentist made it one of the South’s most unique pelican rookeries. Tickets start at $27.

July 18 – 20: Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo

Dauphin Island

Reel them in and cross your fingers at weigh in — this classic fishing competition brings out the best anglers on the Gulf Coast. Registration starts at $60.

July 19: Dauphin Street Vault

Downtown Mobile

8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Watch beginner and elite pole vaulters as they launch themselves high in the sky on the streets of LoDa.
