May 5: Cocktails with the Critters

Bluegill Restaurant • 3775 Battleship Pkwy, Spanish Fort.

6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Feast on tasty hors d’oeuvres and cool beverages while listening to the lively sounds of local singer-songwriter Ryan Balthrop. There will also be a silent auction featuring local art, jewelry, home goods and more. Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation.

May 6 – 8: Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival

Foley Sports Park • Foley

Take a tethered ride or sit back and watch hot air balloons decorate the skies of Baldwin County. There will also be carnival rides, arts and crafts,  live entertainment from Moustache the Band and The Molly Ringwalds and a performance from the Disc-Connected K9's Frisbee Dog Show. General admission is free; tethered balloon rides range from $15 – $20.

May 7: Creek Fest

Tricentennial Park

10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Don't miss this family-friendly celebration including a cane pole fishing tournament for ages 16 and under, live music from Eric Erdman, food, kayak rentals, door prizes and educational exhibits. Admission is free.

May 7: 99 Bottles of Beer on the Lawn

Southern Napa • 2304 Main St.,  Daphne.

1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Get your beer fix at Daphne's only craft beer festival with 99 beers to sample, food from Will’s Farm Foods,  live music from Brett LaGrave and a fundraiser for the Baldwin County Human Society. Tickets are $45.01, which includes admission and a 6-pack of craft beer. Must be 21 to enter. 

May 8: Mother’s Day Evening Garden Concert

Bellingrath Gardens and Home • 12401 Bellingrath Gardens Rd., Theodore.

5:30 p.m. Treat mom to something special this year with the Mobile Youth Symphony Orchestra’s annual concert at Bellingrath Gardens. Bring lawn chairs and a picnic supper to enjoy during the concert.

May 14: Orange Beach Wine Festival

28101 Perdido Beach Blvd. • Orange Beach

Enjoy more than 120 wines and craft beers, three live music acts, food from distinguished local restaurants, boat tours of the Bay and more. Tickets are $45 in advance and $55 at the gate.

May 20: Grilling Basics (Culinary Academy 2016)

Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa • 1 Grand Blvd., Point Clear.

10 a.m. It's grilling season! At this culinary academy session, a chef at The Grand will teach the best techniques for grilling meat, poultry and fish. Cost is $25 and includes a two-hour cooking demonstration, recipes, food sampling and a diploma.

May 20 – 22: Hangout Music Festival

The Hangout • Gulf Shores

Music lovers from all over the U.S. flock to the beach to see performances from some of the hottest musicians including The Weeknd, Calvin Harris,  Florence & The Machine, Alabama Shakes, Cage the Elephant, Ellie Goulding, The Chainsmokers,  X Ambassadors and more. General admission tickets are $289

May 30: Mobile Symphonic Pops Concert

7 p.m. Bring the family to celebrate Memorial Day with the festive musical stylings of the Mobile Pops at this free outdoor concert.

May 31: Jimmy Buffett

The Amphitheater at The Wharf • Orange Beach

8 p.m. Break out the flip-flops and Hawaiian shirts as the hometown musician performs “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise.” Tickets range from $44.50 – $124.50.
