Don't miss two full weeks of games, rides, food and more at the annual Greater Gulf State Fair. This year's theme is “Lions, Tigers, the Fair, Oh My!” New features include the Jimmy Riffle Road Show, Venardos Circus of Oz, a 20-foot-tall Emerald City and a live tiger and wildlife encounter.
November 6 – 7: Oyster Cook-off and Craft Beer Weekend
The Hangout • 101 E Beach Blvd, Gulf Shores.
6 p.m. Fri.; 11 a.m. Sat.. Kick off the weekend on Friday with the Craft Beer Festival featuring Black Jacket Symphony performing Pink Floyd's “Dark Side of the Moon.” In addition to music, admission includes samples of more than 60 beers from breweries like Oskar Blues, Lagunitas, Good People Brewing, Straight to Ale, Cahaba Brewing, Fairhope Brewing and more. On Saturday, taste oysters from more than 70 chefs and restaurants, sample a variety of craft beers and enjoy a great lineup of music including Lennon & Maisy from ABC's “Nashville.” Sharpen your culinary skills with cooking demos from award-winning chefs and wash it down with a Bloody Mary or glass of Champagne. Admission is $10. Kids 17 and under get in free. Tasting tickets are required to purchase food and beverages.
November 10: Bay Bites Food Truck Festival
Cathedral Square • Downtown Mobile
5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Hosted by Mobile Baykeeper's Young Advisory Council, this fun festival features music by Lee Yankie, craft beer provided by Sweetwater and delicious eats that can be purchased from local food trucks including Bacon My Day, Geaux Boys, Grits and Grub, Smoking Gringos and Von's. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the event. A ticket includes three beer tickets and access to all of the food trucks.
November 12 – 14: Christmas Jubilee
Mobile Convention Center • 1 S Water St.
10:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., Thurs.; 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Fri.; 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sat. Get a jump start on your Christmas shopping at the Junior League’s annual holiday market, featuring more than 100 local and national vendors. General admission tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Special events throughout the weekend include a Preview Gala on Nov. 11, VIP Shopping on Nov. 12, Girls' Night Out on Nov. 13 and breakfast and cookies with Santa on Nov. 14. Special event times and prices vary.
November 12 – 15: Fairhope Film Festival
Downtown Fairhope
This event features dozens of movie screenings, plus filmmaker panels and a Red Carpet Party on Saturday night with heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and a ceremony to announce the winners of the jury and audience favorite awards. Tickets are $15 per film, $40 for a four-pack or $75 for an eight-pack. Red Carpet Party tickets are $35.
November 14 – Jan. 12: Riverside Ice
Cooper Riverside Park • Downtown Mobile
Lace up your skates for some winter fun on the ice at downtown Mobile's newest holiday attraction. Free parking is available in the city lot at Water Street and Government Street. Prices and hours of operation TBA.
November 19, 20: Tree Lightings
Downtown Mobile and Downtown Fairhope
5:30 p.m., festivities begin; 6 p.m., lighting. Get into the holiday spirit at Fairhope's annual tree lighting celebration (Nov. 19) complete with Christmas carols, holiday music and a special visit from Mrs. Claus.
5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Don't miss downtown Mobile's tree lighting event on Nov. 20 in Bienville Square. The celebration includes live music, a merry market, pictures with Santa and more. Mayor Sandy Stimpson and Santa will light the tree at 6:10 p.m.
November 20: Art Soup
Alabama Contemporary Art Center • 301 Conti St.
6 p.m. Enjoy local art, live music and delicious soup dishes from local restaurants at this fundraiser for Loaves and Fishes, a non-profit organization that supports the services at 15 Place, Family Promise, McKemie Place, Ransom Ministries (Cafe) and other local homeless service groups. Admission is $50 and includes one handmade bowl and two drink tickets.
November 21: Mobile International Festival
Mobile Civic Center • 401 Civic Center Dr.
10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Take in a variety of cultures from all across the globe with this annual celebration featuring food, art, music, crafts and entertainment from drummers, dancers, acrobats and more. This year's theme is “Tall Tales.” Tickets are $12. Children 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult.
November 26: Turkey Trot for Hope
Spanish Plaza • Downtown Mobile
8 a.m. 5K, 9 a.m fun run. Burn some calories before your holiday feast at this fundraising run supporting Camp Rap-A-Hope, a camp for Gulf Coast children faced with cancer. Pre-registration (received by Nov. 24) costs are $25 for adults with a race T-shirt and $15 for children (12 and under) with a race T-shirt.
