October 1: Vintage Affair

Alabama Cruise Terminal • 201 S Water St.

6 p.m. – 9 p.m., gala; 9 p.m. – 11 p.m., after party. The annual wine and art gala is a fun-filled evening benefiting The American Cancer Society. Guests will enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres from Clifton Morrissette, a wine tasting provided by Red or White, the smooth sounds of Swing Mobile as well as silent and live auctions. Vintage Affair tickets are available for $125, and Late Night Party tickets are available for $35. (Purchasing a ticket for the Vintage Affair Gala will grant you entry to the Late Night Party for free.)

Downtown Mobile

Goodbye BayFest, hello TenSixtyFive. Mobile's newest music festival boasts free admission and live performances throughout the weekend from Three Days Grace, Sublime with Rome and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic as well as a number of local and regional artists including Los Colognes, Eric Erdman, Ryan Balthrop and Friends,  Grayson Capps,  Infant Richard and the Delta Stones and Kristy Lee & Dirt Road Revival.

October 3: Alabama Festival of Flavor

Downtown Foley

Noon – 8 p.m. Experience Alabama's culinary scene with local and regional dishes, food trucks,  beer and wine tastings, live music and for football fans, a Game Day Street airing the Alabama, Auburn and LSU football games.

October 8: Boots & BBQ Barn Bash

Camp Grace • 11081 Wanda Dr. 

6:30 p.m. Enjoy an evening of live music and delicious food from Moe’s Original Bar B Que at this second annual benefit for pediatric rheumatology patients held by Children’s of Alabama and Rheum4yAL. Throw on your best pair of cowboy boots for hayrides, a bonfire and mouthwatering s’mores. Admission is $60 per person and $500 per table. 

October 8 – 11: National Shrimp Festival

Gulf Shores Public Beach

This annual event features arts, crafts, shopping, live music and of course, some of the tastiest shrimp creations the Gulf Coast has to offer. Admission is free and food, drinks and other items are available for purchase. 

October 10: Children's Cup Regatta

Fairhope Yacht Club • 101 Volanta Ave., Fairhope

​12:30 p.m. Sailing enthusiasts are invited to a day of sailboat racing at this sixth annual event benefiting patients at Children’s of Alabama. Enjoy barbecue, a cash bar,  a silent auction, arts and crafts, kids games and live music from Doc Rogers and the Rock Dodgers. Entry fee is $25 – $50 or free for guests watching the race. 

October 10: Dauphin Island Art Trail

Dauphin Island

9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Explore works from more than 40 artists at 10 locations throughout the island. Pick up a map at any stop and have it stamped at all 10 locations to enter drawings for prizes. Featured artists include Stig Marcussen, Dena McKee, Sue Cox, Linda Scott and more. Admission is free.

October 15 – 17: Greek Fest

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church • 50 S Ann St.

Experience Greece in Mobile with live Greek music, a local marketplace, performances by Hellenic Dancers plus delicious food, drinks and desserts. Admission is $2 per person. Advanced dinner tickets range from $11 – $16 (including admission).

October 24: Turkey Trot 2015

Old Towne Daphne 

8 a.m., 5K; 9 a.m., 1-mile fun run. Lace up those running shoes and trot for a good cause! Early registration is $20 and late registration is $25. Proceeds benefit Prodisee Pantry, Baldwin County's largest non-profit emergency food pantry.

October 25: Woofstock

​Bienville Square • Downtown Mobile

11 a.m. Bring your four-legged friend and spend the day in Bienville Square enjoying great food and beverages and listening to live music. Activities include a weiner dog race,  doggie costume contest and much more. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds benefit the Animal Rescue Foundation.
