October 1 – 31: Thriller Nights of Lights

Hank Aaron Stadium • 755 Bolling Brothers Dr.

7 p.m. – 10 p.m., nightly. Enjoy this family-friendly drive-thru light show synchronized to music playing through your car radio. Displays of giant spiders, spooky eyes, friendly ghosts and tumbling scarecrows are just a few of the displays to see dancing to a fun variety of music. Admission is $6 per person and children 3 and under are free. 

October 7: Festival of Flavor

Downtown Foley

Noon – 5 p.m. Sample beer, wine and various food items from local food trucks and world renowned chefs. Cost is $5 for 5 tastings, $10 for 15 tastings, $15 for 25 tastings or $60 for a VIP ticket.

October 12 – 15: National Shrimp Festival

Gulf Shores

10 a.m. – 10 p.m., Thurs. – Sat.; 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sun. This annual event features arts, crafts, shopping, live music and of course, some of the tastiest shrimp creations the Gulf Coast has to offer. Admission is free and food, drinks and other items are available for purchase. 

October 14: Dauphin Island Art Trail

Dauphin Island

9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Explore work from more than 40 regional artists at 10 different locations spread throughout the island. Have your map stamped at all 10 locations for a prize. 

October 15: Polo at the Point

Sonny Hill-Clearwater Polo Complex • 7883 County Road 32, Point Clear.

11:30 a.m., gates open. Mark your calendars for a day full of world-class polo, fabulous Sunday hats, divot stomping, gourmet cuisine, champagne and more. Individual tailgate tickets are $10, and luncheon tickets are $150. Proceeds benefit the Thomas Hospital Foundation and USA Mitchell Cancer Institute. 

October 19 – 21: Greek Fest 2017

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church • 50 S Ann St.

11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Thurs. – Fri., 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sat. Experience Greece in Mobile with live Greek music, a local marketplace,  performances by Hellenic Dancers and authentic Greek food, drinks and desserts. Admission is $2 per person. 

October 22: Woofstock

​Bienville Square • Downtown Mobile

11 a.m. Bring your four-legged friend and spend the day in Bienville Square enjoying great food and beverages and listening to live music. Activities include a weiner dog race,  doggie costume contest and much more. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds benefit the Animal Rescue Foundation. 

October 28: Wine on the River

Cooper Riverside Park • Downtown Mobile

3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Featuring an “Around the World” theme, this inaugural event will offer samples of wine from both national and international vineyards. There will also be live music and food for purchase. General admission tickets are $49 in advance, $59 the day of the event. Proceeds benefit the Fuse Project.

October 28: Salty Worm Brackish Classic and Delta Bash

Bluegill Restaurant • 3775 Battleship Pkwy, Spanish Fort.

1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind fishing tournament pitting freshwater anglers against saltwater anglers. Stick around for the after party featuring food, live music and more. Cost is $50 for angling and $30 for the Delta Bash. Proceeds benefit the Gaillard Pancreatic Cancer Research Endowment at the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.

October 29: Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats

Soul Kitchen • 219 Dauphin St.

7 p.m. doors open, 8 p.m. show. Sing along to “S.O.B.” and “I Need Never Get Old” with the folksy singer-songwriter from Denver. General admission tickets are $27.50 in advance, $30 the day of the show.
