September 4: Rapahope’s 40th Anniversary Gala

6 p.m. Celebrate 40 years of Rapahope’s mission to give pediatric cancer patients a special place to have some summertime fun. Tickets: $125. 

September 5: Fairhope Art Walk

September 20: 38th Annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup

8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Do your part to help keep our waterways free of trash and pollution! Take part in the state’s largest annual volunteer event as you clean your neighborhoods, local parks, streets and more.

September 20: NatureNauts STEM Day

9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled morning of hands-on learning and outdoor exploration for the whole family! Discover the incredible wildlife and ecology of the Gulf Coast through interactive exhibits and activities from a variety of environmental organizations across the region.

September 20: Son of a Sailor Fest

1:30 p.m., second line parade; 2 p.m. music begins. Enjoy margaritas and the tropical music of Jimmy Buffet at this free island-inspired festival, concert and parade celebrating Buffett’s Gulf Coast roots.

September 21 – 28: Downtown Mobile Restaurant Week

From white cloth napkins to walk-up windows, your favorite Downtown restaurants are dishing out their most craveable dishes all week long. Festivities begin with a ticketed Kick-Off Party from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Sept. 21 at The Battle House Hotel. Kick-Off Party tickets: $35; Restaurant week admission is free.

September 24: The Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th Anniversary

Saenger Theatre • 6 S Joachim St.

8 p.m. Join Barry “Brad Majors” Bostick for a special screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” costume contest and memorabilia display with trinkets and costumes from the film set. Tickets start at $39.

September 27: 18th Annual GO Run

Hancock Whitney Stadium • University of South Alabama

8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Run like a girl at this 5K race and fun run to support life-changing gynecologic cancer research. Youth registration: $15; Adult pre-registration: $30 (until Sept. 19).

September 27: National Maritime Museum 10th Anniversary

National Maritime Museum of the Gulf • 155 Water St.

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. All are welcome aboard to celebrate the Gulf Coast’s maritime history with sweet treats, icy drinks, door prizes and family fun. Admission is free.
