March 7, 2026 // Ceremony at Ashland Place United Methodist Church, Reception at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion
Azaleas bloomed and the sun shone as a perfect Port City spring day welcomed the marriage of Elizabeth and Parker. The St. Paul’s Episcopal School high-school sweethearts were married at Ashland Place United Methodist Church, the bride’s lifelong parish. The bride and groom saw each other for the first time that day when the doors to the church opened. The bride wore a French Alencon lace gown and bolero by Augusta Jones, and her veil was made by her maternal grandmother over 40 years ago and was trimmed with lace from her own wedding gown.
The pair exchanged vows at the altar, and, following the ceremony, a traditional Southern reception took place at Bragg Mitchell Mansion. Guests enjoyed appetizers and cocktails prior to the newlyweds making their entrance, after which a dinner buffet was served. Guests danced to the sounds of Trotline, the couple’s favorite country band from college, before the husband and wife made their exit and rode away in a vintage Rolls-Royce.
