June 15, 2024Â // Sacred Heart Chapel, Reception at the Home of the Bride
Lizzie and Edward had a classic Bay wedding next to the water on a beautiful June day, filled with love and meaning. Sacred Heart Chapel created a charming coastal feel for the ceremony. The bride’s childhood summer home on Mobile Bay, the one place the bride grew up loving her entire life, was the ideal backdrop for the outside reception. It is also the place where the groom proposed, contributing to the strong sense of nostalgia present at the event. Herons were displayed across the napkins, huggers and even the some of the floral arrangements, an ode the groom’s late grandfather’s love of the birds as an avid fisherman on Little Lagoon in Gulf Shores. Additionally, at the very moment that Edward proposed, two herons were watching from a distance, so the tribute served as a nod to the couple and both of their families. The garden party opened up to sweeping views of the Bay, and food, drinks and dancing ensured that a good time was had by all up until the couple’s exit under the starlight.
