Saturday, the 30th of April 2011, Jessica Lauren Webster and Benjamin Jerome Catchot were united in marriage at the home of Ron and Melanie Johnson on Dog River. The Rev. Jeff Spiller, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Sandra Webster and the late Mr. William Webster, of Mobile. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Catchot, of Mobile. Given in marriage by her grandfather, Mr. Gaynor Hangen, the bride wore a mermaid silhouette gown of white satin by Mikealla adorned with a Swarovski crystal embellished sash. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses and hydrangeas.
The bridesmaids wore knee-length, turquoise BCBG gowns and carried pink ribbon-tied bouquets of hydrangeas. Jessica chose her sisters, Ashley Webster Veazey, as matron of honor, and Kristen Webster, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenifer Hammack Butler, Brennen Bradshaw and Erin Selvy Farmer, with flower girls Mason VanDeventer and Amelia Henderson.
The groomsmen wore linen khaki suits and white button down shirts with pink and white striped ties. Robbie Graham served as best man. Groomsmen were Michael Zoghby, Blake Partin, Billy Knechtel and Daniel Mathis. Brien Hammack, Jason Butler and Brent Partin served as ushers. The ring bearers were Aiden Hammack and William Veazey.
The couple could not have chosen a more beautiful day for the riverside ceremony to take place. Family and friends joined the newly wedded couple for cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony, which led to a reception on the grounds, where guests enjoyed fine catered food by Tyner’s Catering. The three-layered wedding cake alternated flavors of butter cream with cream cheese filling and chocolate with raspberry filling and were adorned with beautiful white hydrangeas. Cakes by Judi made the cake and Belle Bouquet Florists & Gifts created all the floral arrangements. In place of a traditional groom’s cake, the bride opted for an ice cream bar where guests could serve themselves and place various toppings from Heath Bars to Gummi Bears on their own selections.
Photography was by Kimberly French, of One Fine Day Photography. The couple left the reception under a canopy of golden lit sparklers leading out to the water where the yacht awaited to take them away. After the honeymoon trip to the West Indies island of Tobago, Ben and Jessica will reside in Mobile.
