Reception at Baytreat
Katie and Robert’s wedding was a picturesque late-spring celebration on the Bay. The couple met in high school when they were both students at St. Paul’s Episcopal School. Their relationship continued as they attended the University of Alabama together and after graduation. When planning their wedding, the couple wanted to incorporate elements that resembled them, their relationship and where they grew up. They just happened to stumble upon Baytreat, and they immediately fell in love with the natural beauty of the venue by the Bay. Everything else fell right into place.
The bridesmaids stayed at Baytreat the entire weekend, getting ready together the morning of the wedding. The bride’s mother surprised the bride with a nightgown and robe made out of her original wedding gown. The late afternoon ceremony at Fairhope United Methodist Church was attended by a gathering of guests from both sides of the Bay and beyond. The bride grew up going to Ashland Place Church in Mobile, where Darren McClellan pastored for many years. McClellan officiated in the ceremony on the Eastern Shore, a meaningful and full-circle moment for all involved. The bride processed down the aisle in a stylish lace V-neck gown, meeting her groom at the altar. After the vows, all rode over to Baytreat for the outdoor reception.
The festivities by the water began with the sun shining, as all enjoyed marinated shrimp, West Indies salad, fried oysters, and mini po’boys. The coastal motif was continued in Bay-themed macarons by Sukar Bakes. A stunning sunset gave way to nighttime, as soft string lights glowed in the trees above, and a warm Bay breeze accompanied laughter and dancing. The newlyweds enjoyed celebrating with all of their friends and family in a day that was truly filled with joy. As the night came to an end, the bride and groom exited in a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, a beloved family car of the Albrechts.
