We all love Mobile in the spring—the time of year when azaleas burst, hummingbird feeders are filled, and crawfish are…FREE.
The dates marking the beginning and end of crawfish season are less defined than, say, shrimp season, which is legally regulated. The exact start of crawfish season is less predictable since crawfish growth is dependent on heavy rainfall and warmer water temperatures. What is predictable, however, is our appetite on the Gulf Coast for everyone’s favorite muddy bugs. And this year, like always, bars around the Bay area will not disappoint.
Using our handy guide, you can get your crawfish fix almost every day of the week at some of the area’s most popular bars. And the best part? It’s free! Kinda. Whether the bars offer totally free crawfish, a two-drink minimum, or a $5 all-you-can-eat wristband, just know you’ll be feasting on these spicy freshwater crustaceans on the cheap. Let our guide do all the work for you as you navigate the waters of crawfish season.
