Rachel Lauren Hartley and Matthew David Hester were united in marriage on March 18, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
The ceremony was celebrated by the Rev. Michael Kelleher, and concelebrated by the Rev. Cecil Spotswood, uncle of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Hartley Jr. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Spotswood. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Alton Hester.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a lace Essence of Australia gown of ivory Chantilly lace and a cafe underlay. Her gown featured hand-embroidered designs of crystals on the bodice and a scalloped cathedral train, complemented by a veil edged in lace. The bride carried a bouquet of assorted pink and ivory flowers.
The bride chose her sister, Victoria Soto, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Holly Burroughs, Christina Crush, Robyn Cain and Cheyanne Hester. The bridesmaids wore tiffany blue Morilee dresses and carried a smaller arrangement of pink and ivory flowers. The groom chose his childhood friend, Jonathan Clifford, as his best man. Groomsmen were Rick Register, Lance Upshaw, Trent Cain and Joseph Payne. Ring bearer was Ryder Hester, and flower girls were Lillian and Carolyn Cumbest, family of the groom. Mass readers were Michelle Stanford, Benjamin Spotswood and Terry Hartley. Gift bearers were Alan, Suzy and Emily Lassiter, family of the bride. Ushers were Justin Hartley, brother of the bride, and Mark Hester, brother of the groom.
