January 2 – 5: Mobile Bay Inspiration Home Tour

Van Antwerp Park • 618 Pensacola Ave., Fairhope
10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursdays – Saturdays, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sundays. The 2019 Mobile Bay Inspiration Home is a luxury woodland retreat just steps from Mobile Bay and downtown Fairhope. Outfitted with the latest technology and furnishings, the home showcases the best in local architecture and design. Tickets are $10, and proceeds benefit USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital.

January 6: LendingTree Bowl

Ladd-Peebles Stadium • 1621 Virginia St.
7 p.m. Catch all the football action in person as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns take on the Miami University RedHawks head-to-head at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. General admission tickets are $15.

January 10 – April 5: Ancient Rome – The Empire that Shaped the World

History Museum of Mobile • 111 S Royal St.
The exhibition covers the Roman Empire’s most impressive and innovative machines and constructions, including the catapult, early clocks and the secrets behind the incredible Colosseum.

January 12: Mobile Marathon

Downtown Mobile
7:30 a.m., marathon, half marathon, relay; 2 p.m., fun run and kid’s marathon.
Run for a cause beneath a canopy of oaks in the heart of downtown Mobile. The event consists of a full marathon, a half marathon, a five-person relay and a 1.2 mile fun run for both runners and walkers. Proceeds benefit L’Arche Mobile.

January 17: The Black Jacket Symphony Presents Led Zeppelin

Saenger Theatre • 6 S Joachim St.
8 p.m. The show will start with a surprise album—either II, III, IV, or Houses of the Holy—followed by a full set of Led Zeppelin hits. Tickets: $27, $32

January 18: Fairhope Brewing Co. 7th Anniversary Party

Fairhope Brewing Company • 914 Nichols Ave., Fairhope
2 p.m. – 10 p.m. Celebrate seven years of brewing in Fairhope with a James Bond-themed party. There will be more than 40 beers on tap as well as food trucks and live music all afternoon. There will be a special rotation of taps featuring dozens of beers made just for the event – like Goldenrye, James Blond, and Bubble-O Seven.

January 18 – May 10: Dinosaurs Around the World

Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center • 65 Government St.
Learn about the ways volcanic activity, plate techtonics and land bridges affected the ways the dinosaurs roamed the globe. Admission: $6 – $20

January 23: Senior Bowl Summit

Saenger Theatre • 6 S Joachim St.
8 a.m. – Noon. The second annual summit brings together leading experts to share their thoughts on breaking barriers in the office, on the field and in the boardroom. Jeremy Schaap, host of ESPN’s “Outside the Lines,” will lead five panels, and keynote speaker Gary Vaynerchuk will provide attendees with skills and lessons they can implement in real life. Tickets start at $100.

January 24: Senior Bowl Parade/Street Party

Downtown Mobile
Get in the Mardi Gras spirit early! Local high school bands will lead the Senior Bowl players, college mascots, local dignitaries and NFL cheerleaders as they throw candy, beads and footballs to the crowd. The parade will end in Cathedral Square where there will be a free concert featuring The Revivalists.

January 25: Reese’s Senior Bowl

Ladd-Peebles Stadium • 1621 Virginia St.
Watch some of the nation’s most talented college football players, including Michigan’s Shea Patterson, Alabama’s Terrell Lewis, LSU’s Kristian Fulton and Ohio State’s Damon Arnette, compete to impress NFL coaches and scouts looking for the next big pick. Tickets range from $10 – $30.
