March 15 – 17: Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival

Downtown Fairhope
10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Fri. – Sun. Spend the weekend viewing art from more than 230 exhibitors from across the country while enjoying delicious food and live entertainment. Admission is free.

March 16 – 17: Callaghan’s Street Party

Callaghan’s Irish Social Club • 916 Charleston St.
11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with live music, beer and hundreds of your closest friends at Callaghan’s Irish Social Club.

March 20: Lyon Newell Charity Throws Meet

UMS Wright Preparatory School • 65 Mobile St. N
3:30 p.m. As many as 92 high schools from Alabama, Florida and Mississippi are invited to participate in this sporting and charity event to raise money for the Child Advocacy Center and a scholarship fund in memory of former student athlete and UMS-Wright graduate Lyon Newell. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

March 21 – 24: Festival of Flowers

Providence Hospital Campus • 6701 Airport Blvd.
9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thurs. – Sat., 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sun. The 26th annual festival will showcase elegant elements of the Dutch garden with carefully choreographed displays. Catherine Arensberg will serve as lead designer, and Brent Smith as featured artist. Tickets: $11.50 (group rates) – $150 (gala).

March 23: Downtown Cajun Cook-off

Cathedral Square • 300 Conti St.
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Feast on Cajun cuisine from local restaurants as part of this annual event benefiting the Child Advocacy Center. Tickets are $13 in advance online, $15 at the gate.

March 23: Azalea Trail Run

Downtown Mobile
8 a.m. 10-K, 8:15 a.m. 5-K; 9:30 a.m. fun run. Thousands of runners race down the oak-shaded streets of downtown Mobile in this run presented by the Port City Pacers.

March 28: Little Black Dress

Fort Whiting Auditorium • 1630 S Broad St.
6:30 p.m. See the latest fashion trends on stage at the 10th annual LBD Cocktail Party and Runway Show benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile. Fifty local “McModels” will be featured in a fast-paced runway show. Afterward, guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from area chefs and restaurants. General admission tickets are $100. Guests must be at least 21 years old, and cocktail attire is required.

March 30: Chili Cook-off

Mardi Gras Park • 101-148 S Royal St.
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Bring your appetite to this spicy competition for the best chili in the Port City! Tickets are $10 and proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

March 30: Mobile Chocolate Festival

The Grounds • 1035 Cody Rd. N
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Indulge yourself in a sweet afternoon and experience chocolate galore. Advanced tickets are available for $3 at Flour Girls Bakery, Three Georges, EllenJay and Bloomin’ Lollipops. Admission is $5 at the event. Ages 13 and under free. Proceeds will benefit Penelope House.
