September 14 – 16: The Wharf Uncorked Food & Wine Festival
The Wharf • 23101 Canal Rd., Orange Beach.
This three-day event features demos from renowned chefs, more than 150 wines, cuisine and wine tasting tents, cookbook signings, wine auctions and more. Proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Alabama. Cost is $35 for VIP Kickoff Party, $60 for the Grand Tasting.
September 16: GO Run 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run
University of South Alabama • Moulton Tower
8 a.m. 5K, 9 a.m. Fun Run. After the race, stick around for live music and fun in the kids zone. Proceeds benefit Gynecologic Cancer Research at USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.
September 21: All in for Heart
The Pillars • 1757 Government St.
6:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. This casino-themed event is complete with games such as blackjack, craps and roulette. Each guest will receive $1, 000 in “fun money” to use at the gaming tables. At the end of the night, guests will cash out with the dealer and receive a ticket for every $500 they have won. Those tickets will be exchanged for chances at some very nice prizes. Guests will also enjoy food, complimentary beer and wine and live music throughout the evening. Individual tickets are $60, and proceeds benefit Children's of Alabama.
September 23: Greek Fest Charity Gala
Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church • 50 S Ann Street
6 p.m. – 10 p.m., after-party follows. The gala will feature authentic Greek food, drinks and music as well as an address by keynote speaker Ms. Edwina Rogers. Don't miss the after-party where Nashville artist Jason Eskridge will perform. Gala tickets are $300 and after-party tickets are $75. Proceeds benefit Penelope House, Prichard Preparatory School and The Diakonia Retreat Center.
