Ceremony at Prince George Winyah Parish, Reception at DeBordieu Colony

Pink details added a spark of fun to Victoria and Thomas’ South Carolina wedding. The native Mobilian groom met his future wife at the University of Alabama during rush, and the couple was married at historic Prince George Winyah Parish in the heart of downtown Georgetown. The bride wore a high-neck gown with intricate lace detailing and a long train, complementing the beautiful colonial architecture, original box pews, hand-crafted details and centuries of history in the church.
After the ceremony, an elegant reception was held at DeBordieu Colony. As guests took their seats for dinner, they were greeted with fortune cookies as a nod to the 10 years the bride spent growing up in Hong Kong. The bride and her mother incorporated their shared love of birds in small, thoughtful touches across the celebration, from the invitations to the dance floor wrap to the backdrop behind the band to the cocktail tables and the bride’s cake. Pops of pink in flowers and decor added cheeriness to the gray skies, and palm fronds paid homage to the lowcountry celebration.
Lively music sounded as guests took to the dance floor. After hours, guests enjoyed a late-night Bojangles snack, a playful tribute to the place where the bride spent her earliest years. After dancing and an outfit change for the bride, the newlyweds made their way to their getaway car, decorated with a custom license plate and a “Just Married” banner.
