STEAK PUFFY TACO AT LAS CATRINAS DE ROSY
“Las Catrinas De Rosy on the Eastern Shore is my go-to spot for a quick lunch during the work week. My favorite order there is a few of their puffy tacos with steak. The perfectly seasoned steak is drowning in queso and topped with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and a drizzle of sour cream, all inside a deep-fried tortilla. Cover it with some of the orange sauce that comes on the side, and it will blow your mind the moment it hits your tongue, it’s so good.” – Max Dearing, Director of Engineering, SFR Development, 68 Ventures

SALISBURY STEAK AT SWEETIE’S COUNTRY COOKING
“As I entered Sweetie’s, my plan was to order fish. But as soon as I saw the Salisbury steak with peppers on the buffet, I had to have it along with the macaroni and cheese, and beans with okra. I also had to get the banana pudding. I felt like I was in my grandmother’s kitchen. Everything tasted great and was cooked to perfection. It is indeed a home-cooked meal away from home.” – Kimberly Pettway, Instructor of Social Work, University of South Alabama

SMOKED DUCK BREAST AT CHAR 32
“Hidden away in the Point Clear Tennis Club is a wonderful restaurant, Char 32. I’m a huge game lover and chose to order their smoked duck breast, which was amazing. It was perfectly cooked and accompanied by a stuffed potato and a nice salad. We added creamed spinach also… That might have been the best spinach I have ever had. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming for a nice quiet evening that can’t be beat.” – Jeanie Smith, Artist, Southern Intaglio Gallery

LUCKY BURGER AT LUCKY’S IRISH PUB & GRILL
“‘Burgers’ and ‘Mobile’ are partner words for Port City foodies. My wife knows what kind of week I’ve had based on my food mood. When I need a reset, she hauls me to Lucky’s. Their signature burger is a half-pound Angus patty, seasoned just right. I like mine with pepper jack and avocado. This jewel is served on a fresh bun, with pub mustard and Tabasco ketchup. Throw in a basket of onion rings with a couple of cold beers and my frown turns upside down.” – Barry E. Porter, Writer and Consultant Director, Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic
