How They Met
Carson and I don’t really have a traditional “how we met” story because we’ve known each other our entire lives! Our grandmothers worked together as nurses in Fairhope, our parents attended Fairhope High School together, and our families remained close friends throughout the years. Our paths crossed time and time again as we grew up!
After both graduating from Fairhope High School in 2019, life took us in different directions. Carson joined the U.S. Army and later attended Mobile Fire College while serving in the Alabama National Guard. I attended the University of Alabama and eventually made my way back to Baldwin County, and now work for Orange Beach City Schools as the Communications Specialist.
In 2024, God brought us back together during a completely new season of life, and what began as a reconnection quickly turned into something much more! Looking back, it feels like our story was years in the making. From being each other’s first crush to now, we often joke that we’re childhood sweethearts who simply took the scenic route to finding each other!
How He Proposed
Carson proposed during a horseback ride through the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains, making it a moment I will cherish forever. About halfway through our ride, our guide suggested we stop to take photos with our horses at a popular scenic spot. She led us to a charming gazebo overlooking a pond, where beautiful flowers and apple cider were placed on a table inside.
At first, I thought the flowers were simply part of the setting, but then Carson placed his hand on my back and led me to step into the gazebo with him. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Surrounded by stunning mountain views and the peaceful beauty of nature, it felt like a scene from a dream. It was the perfect beginning to our next chapter together!
