A mild and sunny April day, an intimate gathering of family and friends and meaningful details made Annabelle and Sam’s wedding day the perfect celebration. The couple met while students at Auburn University and got engaged after graduation. When it came time to plan their wedding, they knew they wanted a venue that captured the charm of the Eastern Shore, where the bride is from. St. Francis at the Point’s perfect location and beautiful interior encapsulated the feeling the couple wanted, and The Wash House, just a stone’s throw away, served as the ideal reception venue.
The couple was married on a Saturday evening in the little white church by the Bay, watched on and supported by their family and friends. The bride’s grandfather was the ring bearer, emphasizing the closeness of family and the important role the couple’s loved ones have played in their relationship. The bride wore a strapless jacquard dress with a lace-trimmed, cathedral-length veil, and heartfelt vows led to a joyous first kiss between the new husband and wife.
Dinner and dancing followed the ceremony, as guests joined the newlyweds at The Wash House. The bride changed into her mom’s original wedding dress from the 80s, shortened for the party, and drinks were served to all in attendance, complete with stirrers that paid homage to the couple’s cats, Marvin and Pickle. Guests dined on Chateaubriand with garlic mashed potatoes, shrimp and Gouda grits, roasted vegetables, salad and warm rolls from the restaurant, and key lime pie and wedding cake followed as the bride and groom joined their guests on the dance floor. After several hours, guests lined the drive to send the couple off in a bubble-filled exit.
