Ceremony at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Reception at The Country Club of Mobile
Loie and Garrison celebrated their wedding with all the people they love together in one place. The couple was married at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, which was decorated with lush white florals and greenery near the altar and on the ends of the pews for the evening ceremony. After the bridesmaids and flower girls processed down the aisle, the bride entered the church, wearing a strapless, laser cut gown and her face covered by her gauzy veil. After readings and hymns, the bride and groom recited their vows in front of their guests and shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued at The Country Club of Mobile. Large flower arrangements welcomed all to the venue, which featured green-and-lilac drapery, pastel floral lanterns, fairy lights and flowers in purples, pinks, blues and oranges, bringing the charm and enchantment of an outdoor garden party. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails — a Hugo spritz for the bride and Maker’s Mark and coke for the groom — along with food, a dessert bar and music before the couple’s first dance. All took to the dancefloor as the sun set and the music from the energetic band kept everyone on their feet, singing, dancing and sharing a special night with the newlyweds. The fun, joyous party lasted well into the night before the Excelsior Band led the couple, their bridal party and their guests to the entrance. The new Mr. and Mrs. Guthrie then exited through a shower of rose petals to their waiting golf cart, ready to ride off to their new life as husband and wife.
