Annie O’Brien Pierce & Keith Gaines Drago Jr.

Annie O’Brien Pierce and Keith Gaines Drago Jr. were united in marriage at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on June 15, 2013. The Rev. Mark Neske officiated, with assistance by Father Steve Williams.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Beth Pierce and the late Charles Edward Pierce. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gaines Drago.

The bride wore a two-piece strapless trumpet-shaped ensemble of ivory satin and silk organza designed by Monique Lhuillier. Its bodice was enhanced by a sweetheart neckline and adorned with delicate organza flowers and Swarovski crystals and pearls.  Her cathedral-length veil was handmade and embroidered with floral details to compliment the bodice of the dress. The bride carried a bouquet of pink peonies, created by LeNae Denson, of Cleveland the Florist.

The bride chose her sister, Katie Amelia Pierce, as her maid of honor and Margaret Meador Barnhill, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Elizabeth Brunson, Virginia Neal Drago, Emily Anne Kane and Margaret Kyle Matthews. The bridesmaids wore strapless, champagne dresses by Shoshanna and carried bouquets made of white hydrangeas.

The groom chose his father, Keith Gaines Drago, as his best man. Groomsmen were Bryant David Baggett, Bennett Alexander Drago, Edward Benedict Grogan, Austen Hall Johnson, Joshua Matthew Justice, Thomas Patton Meador, Joseph Taylor Norton, Woodie James Perkins, Thomas Scott Sanders and Jay Christopher Zainey Jr.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in a tent erected at the bride’s family’s bayfront property overlooking Mobile Bay. To be sure all the guests danced the night away, the bride’s family brought in the band Super T from Nashville.

Guests sipped on bushwhackers, the signature drink for the evening, and enjoyed Southern favorites, such as crawfish and grits and crab cakes. The wedding cake, created by Pollman’s Bake Shop, was four layers of classic, white wedding cake with buttercream icing, encircled with pink peonies.

All dancing was under a tent swathed in white fabric and illuminated with white Italian lights and crystal chandeliers. The decor was a blend of classic romance with a touch of modern to balance it out. Each table was draped in champagne linens and topped with large silver vases full of lush flowers like hydrangeas, ranunculus and roses, all in shades of blush pink.

After traveling to Greece for their honeymoon, the couple now resides in Atlanta.
