Reception at the Country Club of Mobile
Rays of light streaming through the stained-glass window at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church dappled a colorful spotlight on the wedding ceremony of Elizabeth and Peyton. The couple met during their senior year of high school, dating throughout college and undergoing a stint of long distance before finishing out their college experience together at the University of Alabama. They both moved back to Mobile after graduation, and a few years later, the groom proposed in the empty living room of their future home.
Celebrating their marriage at the bride’s childhood church was a fitting way for the bride to honor her roots and celebrate their union in the place where she was raised and formed her faith. The ceremony was officiated by Associate Pastor Kathy Jorgensen, who has been a special part of the bride’s family’s lives for years and celebrated her brother and sister-in-law’s wedding as well.
Clear skies and perfect spring weather complemented the airiness of the Country Club of Mobile reception as guests enjoyed cocktails and a buffet before watching the newlyweds’ first dance. Joy was the highlight of the proceedings, from dancing to the exit to their red getaway car, as the new Mr. and Mrs. Henderson commemorated their wedding with those they hold most dear.
