Ceremony at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception
Reception at Fort Conde Inn
Jayli and Barrett were married on a spring Saturday in the Port City. They first met in middle school and later attended McGill-Toolen Catholic High School together. After briefly dating during their senior year of high school and freshman year at the University of Alabama, their paths diverged. After college, Jayli and Barrett moved back to their hometown of Mobile and officially reunited.
Every detail of the celebration held a meaningful backstory. The bride transformed her mother’s wedding dress into a mini cocktail dress to wear to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner the night before. On the wedding day, the couple was married at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The nuptial Mass was celebrated by Father John Lynes, who also married the bride’s parents more than 30 years ago. Pictures of the bride’s two grandparents and the groom’s grandfather, who passed before the wedding, were displayed at the altar alongside florals in honor of their memory.
The celebration continued at the historic Fort Conde Inn, with guests greeted by a gorgeous floral garland featuring purple roses and white hydrangeas around the front door. During the reception, the band ISING live kept everyone moving with a funky groove requested by the bride, during which a surprise, choreographed father-daughter dance to Bruno Mars’ “Perm” was incorporated. Guests danced and enjoyed signature cocktails and a classic Southern menu featuring grilled oysters, steak tenderloin, shrimp and grits and other Southern favorites. The newlyweds concluded their unforgettable evening with a sparkler sendoff, departing in the father of the bride’s 1931 crimson coupe roadster.
