Julia D’Olive Greer and David Gray Fobes, II were married at the bride’s parent’s home on Soldier Creek in Lillian, Alabama on March 31, 2012. The Rev. Brad McClain officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Vidmer Greer, Jr. The groom is the son of Mrs. David Gray Fobes and the late Mr. David Gray Fobes.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a vintage Belgium lace gown from The Timeless Bride. The gown and train were covered in antique pearls collected by the bride and her mother.
The bride chose her sisters, Lucy Barton Greer and Elizabeth Schaub Greer as her maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren Audrey Fobes, Michelle Marie Summersell, Robin Cox Leary, Candice Julia Torrey and Margaret Caitlin Robertson.
Blake Trione Moore served as best man. Groomsmen included Trevor Reef LeCain, Tristan Paul McClain, Brendan John Lynch, Gannon Michael Leary, Michael Cody Hicks and Patrick Neil Lisenby.
The ceremony was set along the Creek by a lush floral archway. Eclectic and colorful floral arrangements continued abundantly throughout the space. The guests were seated on wooden benches facing the sunset while listening to Holly Compton’s string quartet.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s father gave a heartfelt toast which set a welcoming and intimate tone for the evening. The yard was draped in Italian market lights by Showbiz Lighting and the guests enjoyed dancing under the stars to the music of the Justin Fobes Band. The menu was developed by the bride’s sister Lucy Greer and prepared to perfection by the Greer’s Catering team. The elaborate gold wedding cake, created by the Pastry Shop was the glowing centerpiece under a gazebo of gold foliage and lights. The couple made their getaway, through a path of sparklers, on the bride’s family sailboat.
The bride would like to give a special thank you to Paper Jubilee for the elegant invitations, programs and napkins, her team of co-workers and friends at Zimlich Brothers Florist for making it all happen and to Brock Larsen who captured it all in his incredible photographs.
The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica and will reside in Mobile.
