Kathryn Cecile Martin & Donald Robert Toomey III

Kathryn Cecile Martin and Donald Robert Toomey IIIĀ  were united in marriage at Steelwood Country Club on Aug. 31, 2013. Pastor Paul Clifton Koonce, of Hattiesburg, Miss., officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Jane Lightcap Martin and Mr. James Bernard Martin IV and granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Clement Albert Lightcap, Ā Mr. James Bernard Martin III and the late Ms. Mary Josephine Martin, of Mobile.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Robert Toomey Jr. and the grandson of the late Rev. Donald Robert Toomey and Ms. Elizabeth McElroy Toomey, of Brandon, Miss., and the late Mr. Rufus Wier and Ms. Stella Corley Wier, of Money, Miss.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory Reem Acra gown embellished with pearl and crystal beads. The bride chose her two best friends to be her matrons of honor: Haley Hellman Genry and Abbie Eason Koonce. Bridesmaids were Martha Guinn Carter, Karen Jeffries Corkern, Amanda Boozer Fallon, Mary Page Martin, Jessica Brooks McDonald, Bridget Ann Mulroy, Jennifer Toomey Roden, Sadie Elliot Sedley, JenƩe Brown Sutter and Leah Campbell Woods.

The groom chose his father, Mr. Donald Robert Toomey Jr., to be his best man. Groomsmen were Benjamin Holmes Hargett, Noland David Howard, Christopher Eric Kelly, James Gregory Martin, Jackson Patrick Martin, Brett Brown Narmour, Robert Russell Roden, Andrew Chassanoil Stainback, Frasier McLeod Smith, Larry Earl Smith Jr., Chip Doyle Tubbs, Dodd Hammett Turner and Scott Lane Wynne. Ushers were Victor Cannon Burgess, William Tyler Gilliland, Paul Caleb Koonce and Bradley Rufus Lloyd.

The brideā€™s cousins, Lauren Marie Kase and Emily Ann Kase, were the program attendants. Nadine Sameh Dalati was the bridal proxy and ThĆ©rĆØse Mulroy was the flower girl.

Following the ceremony, guests danced to music provided by The Tip Tops. The Rose Bud created gorgeous flower arrangements that adorned the entire Steelwood clubhouse. Willow Bridge created a stunning entrance to the reception, including trees wrapped in white lights to create a whimsical environment. Guests enjoyed slices of cake created by The Pastry Shop and the groomā€™s mother, Gwen Toomey.

On Friday evening, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party, family and friends at Felixā€™s Fish Camp where the bride wore her motherā€™s transformed wedding dress.

After traveling to Antigua for their honeymoon, the couple now resides in Greenwood, Miss.Ā
