Meredith Amanda Martin and Aaron Cleveland Denson were married in New Orleans, La., on March 18, 2012. The services were held at Touro Synagogue on St. Charles Avenue following an exciting and elegant reception given by the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Timothy Martin, of Charlotte, N.C., at the Audubon Zoo.
The bride chose an ivory lace Rivini trumpet fitted gown, with a sweetheart neckline and a beaded belt. The bride carried a bouquet of Ivory blush peonies, and the bridesmaids carried an assortment of peonies in shades of pink.
The festive weekend began as guests were surprised by the groom’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. William Stephen Denson, of Mobile, to a second line jazz parade. Starting in the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel Lobby, the wedding party and guests paraded down Canal and Bourbon streerts as the New Orleans police blocked traffic and the band lead the way to the after-rehearsal dinner at Broussard’s Restaurant. Following the jazz cocktail reception in the courtyard, guests enjoyed an intimate candlelight dinner of traditional New Orleans cuisine. The Cleveland the Florist staff travelled to New Orleans to create the elegant romantic tablescapes designed by the groom’s mother, LeNae Denson, the inspired theme included white phalaenopsis and green cymbidium orchids, in an array of assorted oversized vases interspersed with bells of Ireland, green berries, white and green hydrangeas and green hanging amaranths.
The Cleveland the Florist staff also created the lavish wedding reception in the Audubon Zoo Tea Room featuring oversized crystal candelabras filled with white hydrangeas, peonies, orchids and garden roses. The five-tier cake continued the green and white theme, encircled with green and white hydrangeas.
Guests enjoyed dancing in The Tea Room. The round dome shape was filled with fuchsia lighting illuminating the way. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and will reside in New Orleans.
