Sports + Outdoors

GULF COAST HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL

When: May 4 – 5, 2018
Where: Foley Soccer Complex
What: Take a tethered ride or sit back and watch hot air balloons decorate the skies of Baldwin County. There will also be carnival rides, arts and crafts,  live entertainment and a performance from the Disc-Connected K9’s Frisbee Dog Show.
How much? General admission is free; tethered balloon rides range from $15 – $20

When: May 12, 2018 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Tricentennial Park
What: Family-friendly celebration including a cane pole fishing tournament for ages 16 and under, live music, food, kayak rides, door prizes and educational exhibits.
How much? Free

DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

When: June 9, 2018
Where: USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park
What: Watch teams race in 46-foot long Hong Kong-style dragon boats for 250 meters. In addition to the races, there will be food and fashion trucks, a petting zoo,  trackless train, gyro gym, jump houses and pony rides.
How much? $5 admission for spectators, children under the age of 3 are free

DAUPHIN ISLAND GUMBO FESTIVAL

When: April 21, 2018 | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: Dauphin Island
What: Head to the Island for a weekend filled with live music by the Modern Eldorados, kid’s activities and a gumbo cook-off.
How much? $10

99 BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE LAWN

When: May 12, 2018 | 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: Southern Napa Fine Wine House, Daphne
What: The Eastern Shore’s only craft beer festival with 99 beers to sample, live music and food
How much? General admission is $35.

Art, Music + Culture

ST. FRANCIS EPISCOPAL CHURCH ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL

When: April 21, 2018 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Where: Dauphin Island
What: Browse art, pottery, jewelry and photography from more than 50 local and regional artists. Don’t miss the gumbo cook-off and sailboat regatta held that weekend as well.
How much? Admission is free, food and art is available for purchase

MUD BOTTOM REVIVAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

When: April 29, 2018 | 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Where: 2415 Venetia Rd. (on Dog River)
What: Bring blankets and chairs to kick back and listen to live performances by Crown Jewelz and the famous Jimmy Hall & Friends to help raise money for the Dog River Clearwater Revival. Food will be available for purchase from a local food truck.
How much? $25 until April 22, $35 until the event

HANGOUT MUSIC FESTIVAL

When: May 18 – 20, 2018
Where: Gulf Shores beach
What: Music lovers from all over the U.S. flock to the beach to see performances from some of the hottest musicians including Kendrick Lamar, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, The Killers, Zedd, Portugal: The Man, Cold War Kids, Alice Merton, Anderson East, The Struts, T-Pain and more.
How much? General admission tickets are $319.
