Whitney and Payton were married in a day that embodied love, gratitude and joy. The bride and groom grew up together and attended each other’s family events long before they began dating. Their relationship began after Whitney moved back to Mobile from college, and after four years together, Payton proposed on the Bay on the day before the Fourth of July.
On a sunny Saturday in mid-May, the bride and groom exchanged vows at Trinity Presbyterian Church surrounded by their loving family and friends who had seen their relationship unfold. The bride wore an Anne Barge gown with organic lace detailing and a coordinating veil. The wedding was officiated by the groom’s grandfather, Douglas Price, and witnessed by family and friends.
The Baytreat reception was the image of a timeless coastal garden party, reflecting the beauty of Mobile Bay while feeling classic and elegant. Green drapery, white furniture and sumptuous florals greeted guests as they entered the reception. Wildflowers brought the vision to life, and since the bride’s family owns a local nursery, the parents of the bride brought in a large collection of plants to create a lush atmosphere overlooking the Bay. A hummingbird motif appeared throughout the wedding weekend, complementing the garden party aesthetic beautifully.
Guests enjoyed drinks, a menu featuring Gulf seafood and dancing as the sun began to set. Later in the evening, Cammie’s Old Dutch ice cream was served, a nod to the couple’s hometown favorite and their love of ice cream. After dancing the night away, the couple made their exit through rose petals and into the new chapter of their lives.
