LOBSTER POTSTICKERS AT SOUTHWOOD KITCHEN
“On our 20th anniversary, we wanted something special in the midst of our kids’ seemingly million, midweek activities. Southwood Kitchen takeout is our go-to in this situation, and a new appetizer, lobster potstickers, did not disappoint! You can look for loaded lobster filling, curry coconut broth, jalapeno and chili crunch. Dining in or out, Southwood never disappoints! The menu is posted daily on their Facebook page.” –Ashley Bonner, Attorney

CRAWFISH RANGOONS AT THE HUMMINGBIRD WAY
“Chef Jim Smith expertly combines our local crawfish devotion and outsized nostalgia for suburban Chinese buffets with his luxurious crawfish rangoons. Creamy tails wrapped in a light, crispy dumpling is a balanced, body-and-soul-warming dish you didn’t know you needed. Charred pineapple sauce is the counterpoint to the wanton richness. This holiday season, you can keep your roasted chestnuts – give me the rangoons.” –Joseph Brennan, Freelance Filmmaker

BACON HONEY MELT AT SHIPYARD CAFE
“In October, the annual Mobtown Burger Week in Mobile concluded on a high note, with
Shipyard Cafe’s bacon honey melt earning widespread acclaim from enthusiastic customers. Chef Mofasa Giddu’s expertise shines in the elevated cheeseburger, which boasts slow-cooked bacon jam, caramelized onions and pepper jack cheese in a unique Mediterranean-American fusion. As a permanent menu addition, it continues to delight locals and newcomers.” –R. King Champion, Digital Creator

BURRATA AND PROSCIUTTO AT THE CHEESE COTTAGE
“Even though I live in the Eastern Shore, one of my favorite lunch spots is the Cheese Cottage in downtown Mobile. It is worth the drive and is located in such a neat spot in Mobile. They have menu specials each day, but I always end up ordering the same thing each time: the burrata and prosciutto appetizer. Even though it isn’t a main menu item, it is plenty of food for lunch, especially with the amount of toasted sliced bread they give you. The olive oil and herb seasoning on the cheese is amazing.” –Turner Eleazer, Middle School Coordinator, Young Life Eastern Shore
