Abby Leigh Cowart and Evan Nicholas Parrott were united in marriage at the Fairhope Inn & Restaurant on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at half past four o’clock in the afternoon. Minister Allan Eldridge officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lee Cowart. The groom is the son of Mrs. Christine Desmond Long and Mr. Gerald Eugene Parrott, Jr.
On this beautiful fall afternoon, the bride walked down an aisle of rose petals in a strapless Priscilla of Boston silk taffeta gown accented with a beaded ribbon sash from Something New Bridal. A chapel-length veil with lace trim completed the ensemble. She carried an elegant bouquet of cream and white hydrangeas and roses sprinkled with grey brunia berries and wrapped with ivory lace and a monogrammed pearl charm in memory of her sister, the late Mandi Cowart Fisher.
The bride chose her sister, Amber Cowart, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Hayley Long, Mary Breland, Allyson Grillo, Caroline Evelo and Hannah Ryan. Serving as flower girls were Mackenzie Fisher, the bride’s niece, and Sophie Purvis, the groom’s niece. The bridesmaids wore strapless floor-length chiffon gowns in amethyst with multi-strand pearl and rhinestone necklaces. They carried simple bouquets of cream roses and hydrangeas created by Stephanie Easterling, of Wildflowers in Fairhope.
The groom chose his father, Gerald Parrott, as his best man. Groomsmen were Mark Purvis, brother-in-law of the groom; Jamerson Godsey, Steven Bentley, Sean Bockerstett and Steven Shields. The groom and groomsmen wore charcoal grey suits with amethyst seersucker bow ties.
The ceremony was followed by a reception in the courtyard where guests dined on crab cakes, boiled shrimp and other delicious hors d’œuvres prepared by chef Tyler Kean. Julie Adamson, of Haute Cakes, created the four-tier ruffled wedding cake with ivory and champagne flowers as well as the groom’s cake, a two-tier butter cake with peanut butter icing surrounded by Little Debbie Nutty Bars and topped with chocolate-covered strawberries.
Guests danced the night away under a canopy of stringed lights and floral pomanders. Michael Brannon, of MRB Productions, and Krystal Whiddon Photography captured every happy moment of the weekend.
The couple left the reception amidst a sea of champagne and white satin ribbon streamers. They enjoyed a “mini-moon” at the Grand Hotel in Fairhope and look forward to honeymooning in the Caribbean this May.
Evan is currently completing his final semester of law school at the University of Mississippi, and Abby is the Web Producer at Mobile Bay Magazine.
