Deborah Michelle Faught, daughter of the late Wayne Faught and Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Bryant, and Richard Lee Cullum, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cullum Sr., exchanged vows underneath Mobile’s grand oak trees in Washington Square Park on April 28, 2018.
Being a wedding photographer herself, the bride knew exactly what she wanted for her own wedding day. The couple chose a small, intimate ceremony with only their family and bridal party in attendance. Pastor Roy Hill officiated the ceremony. The bride was escorted by her brother, Daniel Faught, who wore one of her late father’s ties. She was given away by her brother, mother and stepfather. She wore a cathedral-length veil while carrying a bouquet of white peonies and roses. The bridesmaids’ dresses were various shades of blue, and each groomsman’s tie was unique as well.
The celebration continued at The Pillars of Mobile where the couple was announced to all of their out-of-town guests. The bride and groom wanted all of their family and friends to experience the hospitality and charm of Mobile, the groom’s hometown and the bride’s home for the past 10 years. Breakfast for dinner was prepared by Chef Rob Stephens as a nod to the couple’s love for brunch. The groom danced with his mother to one of her favorite Simon and Garfunkel songs, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and the bride chose to honor her father with a dance to “My Girl,” with all dads and daughters in attendance.
The couple spent a week in Jamaica for their honeymoon and currently live in Birmingham, Alabama.
